Yoshihiro Takayama Paralyzed After Botched Move

The Japanese press are reporting that wrestler Yoshihiro Takayama is paralyzed from the neck down after following in-ring injury earlier this year.

The 50 year old legend was hospitalized in May after a botched sunset flip, but his recovery had been kept under wraps. It can now be confirmed that he is paralyzed from the neck down despite undergoing spinal surgery.

Takayama has wrestled for all of the major promotions in Japan and is one of the few to have held all of their heavyweight titles. He is also known for a PRIDE MMA fight against Don Frye in 2002, which was voted fight of the year due to its brutality.

Samoa Joe who wrestled Takayama in NOAH wrote the following on Twitter:

After being criticized by Jim Cornette, Mick Foley used social media to explain why he took Joey Ryan’s controversial ‘d*ck flip’ move over the weekend:
