Ellsworth Signs WWE Deal, Mickie James Sticking Around? Adam Cole Wants Mania Moment

James Ellsworth WWE contract

James Ellsworth Is Now A Full Time Superstar

SmackDown Survivor Series mascot James Ellsworth has passed his WWE medical testing and signed a full-time contract with the company. He made the announcement at Friday night’s Big Time Wrestling event in Altoona, PA.

Mickie James’ Future Unclear

So far it doesn’t appear that Mickie James has been offered any long-term deal with WWE. Her match with Asuka at tonight’s NXT TakeOver: Toronto my just be a one off, or she could work a few more NXT shows without a contract.

Her husband Magnus had the following to say to PWTorch:

“As far as I’m aware, it’s completely by ear at this point. I feel like once they see what she does and, more importantly, see the fan reaction, which I think is going to be huge, I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t lead to more. Clearly, I’m not the right guy to ask because I don’t have a very good handle on what they’re thinking and what they want … I know that she and Asuka are going to tear the house down. Asuka’s fantastic. Mickey, she can work with anyone. But I think this particular match-up is very good for her style because she sells so well and she has such great movement. She’s a great babyface. It’ll be a great.”

Meanwhile Mickie thanked fans on Instagram as she looks ahead to tonight:

I can’t explain to you how excited I am to be a part of NXT Takeover. More importantly for the opportunity to come back HOME. It feels so great knowing I’ll be in a WWE ring again. It’s been too long. So long that I had just about given up. But your response has been overwhelming already that it’s brought tears to my eyes & I know the best is yet to come.

I just wanted to take the time right now to thank all of you for your continued support. Whether it’s the amazing changes in my personal life, wrestling, music, and beyond, I always know that my fans will be there for me. I’m not sure what the future may bring, but knowing you are there to support me means more than you will ever know or words could begin to describe. I love you all!

Tonight I fight for more than just the NXT Womens Championship. Tonight I fight for my family sitting at home and who’ve always been my number 1 fans from the beginning. I fight for my Son Donovan, I hope I make you proud boo! I fight for my husband who’s always so proud of me and wants this for me just as much as I do. I fight for every Momma out there who has been told that the YOU have to give up your dreams and aspirations after you have a baby! These are the best years of our lives! I fight for all the little girls who have a dream that seems unreachable… & who still lives inside of me. I promise you it’s not! Just believe in you and work hard everyday! But most of all I fight for each and every one of you who have always been by my fighting side through it all. The good, the bad, and ugly. Without you I wouldn’t be here… I wouldn’t be HOME!
So regardless of how this night ends. I will be eternally grateful for all of this. Forever your champion.

Adam Cole Would Sign With WWE

Despite being ROH Champion, Adam Cole recently told the UK Metro that he still wants a WrestleMania moment when the time is right:

“If I was to tell you that I don’t want to have a Wrestlemania moment someday I would 100% be lying to you. I see that for myself one day, but timing is so important in a career like this. For me right now, after just winning the ROH title again and starting my career in NJPW, I need to focus all my energy on this right now, because if I start focusing on wanting to go to WWE, I’m not going to be focusing on what I have in front of me. Honest to God I’m not even thinking about WWE right now, I’m focused totally on the next few months with my ROH contract and with NJPW, and when the time comes to think about what happens next, a lot of options will be weighed out.”
