CM Punk’s Rumoured Return to Wrestling
CM Punk may well be set for what can only be termed an epic return to the world of professional wrestling!
Rumour Has It…
Gossip on the ground suggests that the star of the UFC will appear at All In, and independent wrestling event hosted by The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes, to be staged on the 1st of September in CM Punk’s home town of Chicago.
10 000 tickets instantly got snapped up for the event, and, says Pro Wrestling Sheet, it’s said to be because the UFC hero was present backstage during the press conference for All In, which sparked stories of his possible return.
The Best Way to Make a Return?
Jenn Sterger, host for the conference, said that fans who had purchased tickets for the All In at face value may well be in for the biggest, and best, surprise in the world. She then obliquely referred to CM Punk returning by saying that somebody kitted out in sweatpants and currently in training had entered the back of the building that the press conference was being held in, and that the only thing that was going through her mind was that fans would tear the place apart if they knew who it was.
She ended things off by stating that there was surely no better way to return to the world of wrestling than by being part of the biggest-ever indie show. Beyond these tantalising hints, nobody involved with All In would either confirm or deny that CM Punk would appear at the supershow, and fans as well as punters who enjoy the WWE and UFC sports betting NZ provides are still holding their breath.
CM Punk left WWE back in 2014, citing health issues and creative differences as the reasons for his departure. Since then, the so-called Second City Saint has cut all ties with pro wrestling, joining the UFC in 2015, and the six-time World Champion is currently focussed on UFC 225, where he will face off against Mike Jackson for the second time, in Chicago on the 9th of June.
He is without a doubt one of the greatest wrestlers in history, and has emerged the winner from bouts against The Undertaker, Daniel Bryan, and John Cena, to name a few.
Meet-and-Greet Sells Out in Seconds
The initial batch of tickets made available for the CM Punk Meet-and-Greet at the All In weekend were snatched up in less than 50 seconds, says @OneHourTees, the official ProWrestlingTees.com Twitter account.
The mingle will take place on the 31st of August this year in Chicago, USA, the day before the event properly gets started.
100 more tickets were additionally made available, but these disappeared just as quickly. CM Punk has apparently offered to stay later that was advertised, including making a walk-up option possible, starting at 4pm, in order to address the problem.
The star’s involvement with the All In weekend, and the incredible demand he’s enjoying, followed news of how incredibly quickly the tickets went: the show sold out in under 30 minutes. Even without an appearance by CM Punk, All In is bound to capture headlines all over the world, but fans feel that his being in the ring would be the icing on the cake.
