CM Punk Injures Shoulder

Former WWE star CM Punk will not be having his first MMA fight for at least another 6 months, following an injury during training. The controversial UFC signee tweaked his shoulder while grappling under his coach Duke Roufus, and is set to see a doctor later this month.

“He got caught in a scramble, so right now he’s taking a little time off,” Roufus told ESPN. “He was doing great before that. His progress has been good. He’s got a great attitude and he’s a hard worker. Our biggest thing is we want him to 101 percent. We don’t have a hard date for his fight to force the issue, so making sure he’s completely healthy is possible.”

“He’s about at 50 percent, but that being said, remember that my 100 percent is a very well-prepared person. The UFC will probably book him a fight three to four months in advance a guy of his magnitude. We’re probably looking at a fight in the next six to 10 months.”

CM Punk shockingly jumped to UFC in December 2014 without having any prior MMA experience. He left WWE with allegations of medical malpractice against Dr. Chris Amann, who has fired back with a defamation lawsuit against both Punk and Colt Cabana, whose podcast hosted the allegations.

Punk Calls Susan G. Komen a Scam

Meanwhile Punk is the headlines today for another reason, calling breast cancer charity Susan G. Komen a scam on Twitter:

WWE is a huge supporter of the charity and even produces pink WWE merchandise to raise money. This year’s campaign has just kicked off and Diva Paige has already scolded a fan on Twitter for criticizing her for wearing Pink:

Of course just because something is designated as a charity doesn’t mean it’s above scrutiny. Punk makes the argument that Komen does not donate enough of its funds to actually help those with cancer, instead giving hundreds of thousands to the CEO and executives.

Snopes.com have covered such allegations, confirming that CEO Nancy Brinker made $684,000 in 2012, and president Elizabeth Thompson made $606,461 in 2014. However data would suggest that the majority of the funds raised do still go to cure research, public education, breast cancer screening, and treatments.

Punk lambasted fans for ignoring the issue and making it all about WWE, who he never actually mentioned in his original Tweet:
