Goldberg spear Brock Lesnar Survivor Series

Goldberg Squashes Brock Lesnar At Survivor Series

Fans were left shocked at the closing of WWE Survivor Series last night when an ageing Goldberg managed to defeat Brock Lesnar in seconds. Right away the WCW legend ploughed Lesnar with two Spears and followed up with the Jackhammer for the victory!

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet Goldberg has signed a deal to remain with WWE through the Royal Rumble, which could have played in to yesterday’s result. Perhaps they are building to another bout at WrestleMania or want to keep Goldberg strong for another competitor, while Lesnar goes after the Universal title (something Paul Heyman suggested would be his next goal).

The ending of the Survivor Series match was essentially spoiled when the odds on the betting sites suddenly changed to put Goldberg the favorite.

The wrestling world reacted to the result in droves on Twitter:

One might speculate that Goldberg’s recent humbleness in interviews, playing up injuries etc may have been a ploy to throw fans off. Then again that may have been why the match was so short. Can Goldberg really go to Suplex City and survive?
